The Downtown Film Festival Los Angeles (DFFLA) opens on Wednesday, July 10th and is set to showcase more than 100 independent features, documentaries and shorts at various locales, including the Downtown Independent, the AT&T Center Theater, the Grammy Museum Clive Davis Theater and other venues.
Latin Heat Entertainment is once again proud to support this event as one of its media sponsors. This year, DFFLA, which runs through July 29th, opens with the U.S. premiere of Ron Chapman’s Who the *** is Arthur Fogel?, a documentary biopic about the creative force behind the worldwide concert tours of Madonna, U2 and Lady Gaga.
Other music-themed movies in the festival include Punk in Africa and Furious Beauty. This year’s DFFLA will also be featuring a women’s series starting off with the premiere of the Sharon Stone-executive produced documentary Femme, and a showcase spotlighting American Latino filmmakers such as Kenneth Castillo, who will screen is drama Counterpunch.

The festival and the Los Angeles Center for Digital Art have also collaborated on a digital art competition and winners will be exhibited during the Downtown L.A. Art Walk this month.
DFFLA is a nonprofit organization dedicated to showcasing the best in independent cinema in the heart of the world’s Entertainment and Arts Capital. The festival’s programming reflects downtown L.A.’s vibrant new urbanism, the unique ethnic and cultural diversity of its communities and neighborhoods, and its seminal role in the early days of American cinema.
