Q’Viva The Chosen Calling all Latino Talent!

Jennifer Lopez & Marc Anthony Continue Move Forward with 21 Latin American Country Competition

Q’ Viva! The Chosen, the brainchild of superstar Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony, and director/choreographer, Jamie King, along with creator and executive producer Simon Fuller, will go where no other talent competition show has gone before – to the heart of Latinos, from the U.S., Latin America and Brazil. Between the creative producers, they will travel to 20 different Latin American countries and embark on a journey of a lifetime in search of ‘The Chosen Ones’. Coordinating the humongous task is casting director Natalie Ballesteros for People Farm where she heads the Spanish projects for the Company.

People Farm has work closely with Fuller on various projects and when this project came their way they felt is was the perfect opportunity to do what they do best, find fresh new talent.

Ballesteros’ background as an actor/singer, her love for Afto-Cuban Music and her production work at ICM makes her the perfect person to head the casting of Q’Viva! The Chosen.

“It seems like a logical step. I didn’t want to be a performer anymore, it wasn’t for me,” Ballesteros recently told us. “I had a great knowledge on how to work with performers — I am Cuban American and so was a logical step for me.”

So just how does a 21 country competition show work? YouTube is the key, at least in the early elimination process. Talent from the various countries are asked to film themselves and upload their audition tape to YouTube. The areas of talent is pretty much wide open. Q’Viva! The Chosen is looking for singers, dancers, music groups, dance troops, acrobats, aerialist, performance artist, street performers…and “Pretty much across the board, with the exception of actors,” says Ballesteros.

This promises to be the most remarkable search and the most extraordinary & authentic Latin American live event in history featuring world-class singers, musicians, dancers, acrobats and other extraordinary performers. Q’Viva! The Chosen gives the people of Latin America a once in a lifetime opportunity to showcase their undiscovered talent, while uniting on one stage, under one banner.

Although casting auditions tapes have been coming in from the various 20 Spanish and Portuguese speaking Latin American countries, Ballesteros said they are urging U.S. Latino talent to submit their auditions tapes at http://www.youtube.com/user/QVIVA

The culmination of the competition will be a major concert event in the U.S. sometime in the Spring of 2012 with finalist being judged by Lopez, Anthony and King.

“I don’t think anything like this has been done before, where you see aspects of cultural dances and music, percussion, and pretty much everything from all these 21 countries under one roof,” Ballesteros remarked. “It will be part of an international audition where the finalists will get to perform alongside Lopez and Anthony, and other mega stars and be watched in 21 countries in three different language.”

The beauty of this endeavor is the celebration of the differences and similarities of all Latinos. It goes straight to the core and touches the heart of the people of Latin America, as it discovers it’s most authentic, genuine and most talented entertainers, and unites them in one amazing show.

“It’s a beautiful concept, and a very unique idea. Its time for us to celebrate who we are and let our talent shine,” Ballesteros says.
