Padres Contra el Cancer Annual Picnic August 4th


PADRES CONTRA EL CÁNCER (PADRES), a non-profit organization committed to improving the quality of life for children with cancer and their families, will host its 26th Annual Family Picnic & Carnival Saturday, August 4th, 2012 11:00am to 5:00pm (Registration begins at 11:00am) at Whittier Narrows Regional Park – Special Events Area B, 1600 Rosemead Blvd., South El Monte, CA 91733

PADRES Ambassadors and celebrity supporters in attendance will be: Enrique Gutierrez (PADRES Ambassador and Sports Commentator); Josie Loren (PADRES Ambassador and Actress); Fransisco Pinto (PADRES Ambassador and Sports Commentator); Keven Ramirez (PADRES Ambassador and Radio Host); Fernando Carrillo(Actor/Musician); Enrique Castillo (Actor); Adrian García Márquez (Sports Commentator); Stephanie Himonidis “Chiquibaby” (TV and Radio Personality); Patricia de Leon (Actress); Gina La Piana (Actress) and many more. 

PADRES will host its family picnic and carnival for the benefit of families whose children are undergoing or have undergone treatment for cancer at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA), Children’s Hospital Orange County, LAC/USC Women and Children’s Hospital; Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital; Kaiser Permanente Sunset, Mattel Children’s Hospital UCLA, and other Southern California pediatric cancer centers.

More than 3,000 childhood cancer patients; families; CHLA doctors and nurses; and special celebrity guests are expected to take part in this special celebration of life. The fun-filled day includes carnival rides, carnival games, a barbeque lunch, arts & crafts, game booths and live entertainment.  Official Event Sponsors include: National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR), Verizon, County of Los Angeles California, Ralphs Food 4 Less and Enterprise Holdings Foundation.
