Opportunities at the Sundance Institute

Two exciting opportunities from the Sundance Feature Film and Creative Producing Program.

Sundance Development Track: Getting In and What Comes Next

Ahead of the Sundance Institute 2022 Development Track deadline on May 17, Ilyse McKimmie, Deputy Director of the Feature Film Program, is holding an informational session with Sundance Labs alum Christopher Makoto Yogi whose film I Was a Simple Man recently premiered at the 2021 Sundance Film Festival. Hosted on the Sundance Co//ab platform, the conversation will be followed by a Q&A to answer your burning questions surrounding the Development Track application process. For a complete description and eligibility information for the 2022 Development Track, please visit the Sundance website.

This conversation and Q&A session is happening on April 14th at 11 a.m. PDT and is free with a Co//ab registration. Click here to register for the event, and reach out to featurefilmprogram@sundance.org if you have any questions.

Sundance Co//ab Independent Fiction Producing Learning Pathway

As of March 2021, Sundance Co//ab has launched a new self-paced learning pathway focused on the foundational elements of independent fiction film production. The Independent Fiction Producing Learning Pathway enables users to choose content and resources curated from a collection of industry experts, materials and publications that will best support them on their creative journey. This pathway joins the existing screenwriting and directing fiction pathways and reflects Sundance Institute’s ongoing commitment to expanding access to practical tools and resources that advance the craft and business of independent storytelling (two new nonfiction learning pathways will launch later this spring 2021).

Whether you’re an aspiring producer making a short film or planning your first feature, working as an arts administrator or an educator, you can explore the learning pathway as an opportunity to find success in moving their work forward.
