The Los Angeles Latino International Film Festival (LALIFF) has it re-launch of one of Los Angeles most important film festival showcasing Latinos films and spotlighting the filmmakers. After nearly six years of going dark LALIFF opens Wednesday, June 20th to Sunday, June 24th, 2018., at the TCL Chinese Theater in Hollywood, CA.
Presented under direction and guidance of writer Rafael Agustin (Jane The Virgin),who is back as one of the organizers and he joins Academy Award-Nominee, Edward James Olmos, who states:
I am proud to be launching the Latino Film Institute and LALIFF at such a critical time in our social climate,” said Olmos. “For too long we’ve been talking about issues of inequity and lack of diversity in our industry, and we are looking forward to being part of the solution.”
The Los Angeles Latino International Film Festival (LALIFF) is back, and its return aligns with the wave of change that has engulfed the entertainment industry in recent years.

UNDOCUMENTED STORYTELLERS TAKE OVER HOLLYWOOD VIA LALIFF ART
Under attack by the anti-immigrant rhetoric that plagues the highest circles of power, young undocumented creators have embraced budget-less filmmaking to fight generalizations, ignorance, and the unrealistic standards they are held to because of their status. Undeterred by their circumstances and armed with their stories, these artists are tackling the undocumented experience through humor, mood pieces, traditional documentaries, and even web series.
VIDA PODCAST PANEL (FREE & OPEN TO THE PUBLIC)
A special Latinx podcast event (“Live from LALIFF”) with Latinos Who Lunch and Locatora Radio will be free and open to the public, as they interview the creator, Tanya Saracho, and the stars of Starz’s new original hit show, VIDA.

SANTO CONTRA “CEREBRO DEL MAL” ($5)

The screening of SANTO CONTRA “CEREBRO DEL MAL” (1961) is a partnership with the Academy Film archive and marks the West Coast premiere of the restoration.

LA QUINCEAÑERA
The Los Angeles premiere of the original 7 episode digital short-form series from Stage 13 and Luchagore. Features fifteen-year-old Alejandra Santos, whose life is about to change forever on the night of her quinceañera. In this daring revenge tale, a young girl will learn the limits of resilience and strength as she is thrust into the most extraordinary of situations over the course of 24 hours.
