Six time Grammy nominated superstar Juan Gabriel was released from a Las Vegas hospital this week. His health has improved considerably since starting treatment on Monday, and he is looking forward to resuming his acclaimed VOLVER tour on Thursday May 1st at Nokia Theater L.A. Live.
Legendary singer-composer-producer Juan Gabriel kicked off his acclaimed “Volver” tour on April 3rd and 4th with two sold out shows at the Allstate Center in Chicago. Sold out shows at Madison Square Garden, the Toyota Center in Houston and Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas followed. Last Sunday night at Mandalay Bay, Gabriel, known affectionately as “Juanga” by fans, played his full show plus 30 minutes beyond his curtain time to appease the crowds who were on their feet for the full 3 hours and have waited over 7 years to see him tour.
On Monday April 15th, he was rushed to intensive care in Las Vegas after awakening with fever and congestion. Later in the day, Gabriel was diagnosed with pneumonia necessitating the postponement of his next three shows: April 15 & 16 in Los Angeles at the Nokia Theatre and April 19 in San Jose at the SAP Center.
The “Volver” in Los angeles and San Jose have been re-scheduled (see below), until then he will rest and continue his recovery in Las Vegas and in Los Angeles until the resumption of the tour. The composer/performer has received well wishes from all over the world while in the hospital and tweeted his thanks on Wednesday, “Rezos, oraciones, recetas, consejos, recomendaciones, bellas palabras y buenos deseos han llovido. A todos y cada uno mi eterno agradecimiento.” (Prayers, […] beautiful words, and well wishes have rained down. To each and every one of you my eternal gratitude).
