Serves as Co-Host of National Puerto Rican Parade
New York, NY – In anticipation of Twentieth Century Fox’s animated family comedy Ice Age: Continental Drift, John Leguizamo co-hosted the live broadcast of the 2012 National Puerto Rican Day Parade with Fox anchor Ernie Anastos and My9 anchor Brenda Blackmon.
After his hosting duties, Leguizamo joined second and third graders from Bronx Little School aboard the Ice Age: Continental Drift parade float along Fifth Avenue in New York City. Spectators watched with excitement as the float, featuring new and returning characters from the film, passed by. More than 2 million people from all over the world attend the parade each year.
The original herd is back in the fourth installment of the Ice Age franchise: Ray Romano as Manny the woolly mammoth, John Leguizamo as Sid the sloth, Queen Latifah returns as Ellie and Denis Leary rejoins the herd as the sabre-toothed tiger Diego. In addition, Jennifer Lopez, Nicki Minaj, Wanda Sykes, Drake and radio personality Piolin each lend their voices for a new crop of characters.
The kids from The Bronx Little School were thrilled to meet the star behind their favorite Ice Age character, Sid the sloth. The school is committed to creating a nurturing community of learners; (as) an environment where students, parents and staff collaborate to promote the individual interests, strengths, and creativity of each student.
Leguizamo also just finished an international tour of his one man show, Ghetto Klown, which has also been made into a documentary and will be premiering on Friday, July 13th as part of the PBS Arts Summer Festival.
Twentieth Century Fox releases Ice Age: Continental Drift, an animated comedy event in 3D, in the US on July 13, 2012. For more information, visit http://www.iceagemovie.com.
