Descarga 2012: Latin Music Concert Series Returns to L.A.

Sixth Consecutive Year and its Free!

Los Angeles – Telemundo and mun2 present the Sixth Annual Descarga 2012, the biggest free Latin music summer concert series in Los Angeles, and for the first time in Las Vegas. The multi-city music event, which has drawn up to 10,000 fans per show, features the most popular Latin music performances by nationally and internationally renowned artists, as well as the most popular up-and-coming talent touring Southern California and Nevada. The concerts take place on July 14 and 28 at Fremont Street Experience in Las Vegas and on July 15, August 12, 19 and 26 at Universal Studios CityWalk in Los Angeles. Descarga is one of mun2’s multi-platform music initiatives that reinforces the network’s culturally-relevant music offerings.

Already a tradition in Southern California, Descarga 2012 will also feature autograph signing sessions by musical artists, Telemundo and mun2 on-air personalities, give-a-ways and surprise guests. Mun2 will be shooting portions of its series Reventon, 18&Over and Larrymania at the Las Vegas and Los Angeles shows.

Descarga Las Vegas Schedule of Events

July 14: Kick-off event starting at 8pm and featuring a live concert with former lead singer of the hit Chilean rock band, La Ley, Beto Cuevas and Mexican duo, Jotdog. Hosted by mun2 on-air talent, the Las Vegas Kick-off concert will take place on the 3rd Street Stage under Fremont Street Experience’s Viva Vision, the world’s largest video screen which is 1,500 feet long, 90 feet wide and contains 12.5 million LED lights.

July 28: Confirmed artists include regional Mexican superstar and star of mun2’s Larrymania, Larry Hernandez and Cumbia Tribalera sensation, El Pelon del Mikrophone.

Descarga Los Angeles Schedule of Events

July 15: Kick-off event starts from 6:00 to 9:00 pm at CityWalk’s 5 Towers Plaza in Universal Studios Hollywood with live musical performances by an array of sensational and happening musical acts, including Mexican norteño group, Los Rieleros del Norte, Mexican Cumbia group, El Conjunto Nueva Ola, and Mexican pop band, Jotdog. The event will also include a special appearance by Mauricio Ochmann, Carla Hernández and Lupita Ferrer, lead actors of Telemundo’s new original production, Rosa Diamante, as well as renowned actor, Miguel Varoni, who directed the new novela.

August 12: Up and coming corrido singer, Mario “El Cachorro” Delgado, young and successful corrido music group, Grupo Escolta, and leading regional Mexican music Singer/Actor, Rogelio Martinez

August 19: The legendary tropical and merengue music singer Elvis Crespoheadlines the event, and fusion music band Grupo Treo will also perform.

August 25: The last Descarga concert of 2012 is headlined by Mexican pop music sensation, Belinda; with performances by Guatemalan jazz, soul and blues singer-songwriter Gaby Moreno; R&B and Pop music sensation, Eli Jas; and Dominican performer, Leslie Grace.
