Los Angeles, CA — Apertura Showcase in association with The American Cinematheque will be hosting the Los Angeles premiere of H.O.M.E. at 7:30pm on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at The Egyptian Theatre. There will be a panel discussion after the film with director Daniel Maldonado and cast members.
The award-winning feature filmH.O.M.E. directed by Daniel Maldonado and produced by Darren Dean (Tangerie) explores the disengagement among New York City’s melting pot.
The film follows several characters as they seek to find their own “Home” in a crowded and ethnically diverse, New York City. Using characters such as
runaway with Asperger’s Syndrome (a developmental disorder affecting ability to effectively socialize and communicate) played by Jeremy Ray Valdez, an Ecuadorian immigrant driver estranged from his daughter (Jesús Ochoa), and a Chinese woman trying to get home to care for her sick child (Angela Lin). This is a universal story about humanity and the barriers which divide us. This discussion piece on isolation and reaching out to humanity is
