And on the occasion of its Quinceanera, Hollywood Forever has invited Univision’s Jackie Guerrido and Rick Quintero to be this year’s hosts for the 15th Annual Dia de los Muertos.  Festivities will take place on Saturday, November 1st, 2014 from 12pm until 12am at Hollywood Forever located at 6000 Santa Monica Blvd, Los Angeles.  Tickets are now on sale at hollywoodforever.ticketfly.com

Dia De Los Muertos a Mexican and Latin American decades old tradition, which celebrates loved ones that have passed, is fast becoming a popular in the U.S.  The celebration of the dad is now often  portrayed in film, TV shows, commercials, and animation.

In anticipation of the celebration, Hollywood Forever held a press day to give journalist a taste of what is in store on November 1st, the day of the 12 hour celebration. Attendees were treated to a taste of the traditional, and very tasty, pan de muerto (bread for the dead), there was face painting, music by Grammy winning Mariachi Divas, a quinceanera fashion show and a traditional waltz performed by the Hollywood Forever Quinceanera (Karina Noelle) and her court.  It was more than a press day, it was a “press party”.

In 1999 Tyler Cassity, on of the founders of Hollywood Forever and Deisy Marquez conceived this festival of life as a platform which would synthesize creativity for the means of remembering the departed spirits of our lives. They traveled to Mexico to learn of the tradition passed on from decades of  the traditional celebration.   Home to the oldest memorial park in Hollywood dating back to 1899, Hollywood Forever is the only cemetery in the country which opens its gates and welcomes its surrounding community to commemorate El Dia de Los Muertos.

Rick Quintero was in attendance, in between his morning traffic gig on Univision’s morning show Primera Edicion and Fox 11’s Good Day LA. he was there to join in the fun. ““I was honored to be asked to be part of Hollywood Forever’s Dia de los Muertos Quinceañera.  I think Jackie and I make a great team and I look forward to co-hosting with her.”   Indeed they do. Guerrido is an award-winning entertainment journalist, television host and actress and also works at Univison, best known for her daily weather report on Primer Impacto
