TNT’s ‘Snowpiercer' Features Roberto Urbina

After living for many years on a never-stopping train that circles a freezing Earth in an apocalyptic future, humanity’s remnants of the Snowpiercer train face the possibility that some places of the planet may be warming up enough to allow civilization to restart on solid ground. That is the premise of TNT’s Snowpiercer which premieres Jan. 24.

The new season features Colombian Roberto Urbina, who returns as engineer Javier “Javi” De La Torre. The character is one of a few engineers on the locomotive that has been constantly on the move for seven years since a worldwide environmental catastrophe brought another global ice era. The Snowpiercer serves as the home of about 3000 people who endure class warfare, social injustice and desperation for survival.

Urbina is part of a stellar cast that includes Oscar winner Jennifer Connelly, Grammy and Tony award-winner Daveed Diggs, Sean Bean, Rowan Blanchard, Emmy nominee Alison Wright, Mickey Sumner, Iddo Goldberg, Katie McGuinness, Tony Award winner and Grammy nominee Lena Hall, Emmy nominee Archie Panjabi, and Steven Ogg.

The show was created by Graeme Manson (who serves as showrunner), and Josh Friedman Aubrey Nealon, Marty Adelstein, Becky Clements, Matthew O’Connor, Christoph Schrewe, Ben Rosenblatt and Scott Derrickson, and the original film’s producers, including Joon-Ho, Miky Lee, Jinnie Choi, Park Chan-Wook, Lee Tae-Hun and Dooho Choi.
