The ninth installment of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise is directed by Texan-born, up-and-coming filmmaker David Blue Garcia and co-produced by Uruguayan Fede Alvarez and Rodo Sayagues, a pair who also wrote the story. The slasher will be released on Netflix Feb. 18.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre is promoted as a direct sequel to the original 1974 The Texas Chain Saw Massacre and arrives five decades after the initial slasher about the cannibalistic killer Leatherface and his family. An aging Leatherface returns to terrorize a group of idealistic young friends who accidentally disrupt his carefully shielded world in a remote Texas town.
The ensemble cast consists of Sarah Yarkin, Elsie Fisher, Mark Burnham, Moe Dunford, Nell Hudson, Jessica Allain, Olwen Fouéré, Jacob Latimore and Alice Krige. A co-production of Legendary Pictures, Bad Hombre and Exurbia Films, the film is executive produced by Jay Ashenfelter and Shintaro Shimosawa.
Texas Chainsaw Massacre is rated R. Persons under 16 not admitted unless accompanied by a parent or adult guardian.
