Kenny Ortega Signs With A3 Artists Agency

Kenny Ortega, the accomplished director, producer, and choreographer has signed with A3 Artists Agency. Ortega is known for his work on Hull High (1990), XIX Winter Olympics Opening Ceremony (2002), and Disney Channel’s High School Musical (2008). Ortega is multi-talented across many areas from directing and producing television and films, to choreography on music productions.

Reported by Deadline, Ortega will be joining others from Paradigm, who made the transition over to A3 Artists Agency last month. According to Deadline, A3 has “brought in four former Paradigm agents to establish a literary division led by Andy Patman and Adam Kanter, Co-Heads of Television Content and Motion Pictures, respectively.” Marc Cherry, writer and producer of Desperate Housewives and Devious Maids has also signed with A3.


Winner of many awards for his work, Ortega has won three Primetime Emmy Awards. One Emmy in 2006, for High School Musical for Outstanding Choreography. Two Emmy award wins in 2002, for XIX Winter Olympics Opening Ceremony for Outstanding Choreography and Outstanding Directing for a Variety, Music, or Comedy Program. Ortega has won two Director Guild of America Awards. The first DGA Award in 2007 for High School Musical and in 2016 for Descendants. Ortega has also won two Alma Awards for High School Musical and High School Musical 2 for Outstanding Director.

Other films such as Hocus Pocus, The Cheetah Girls 2, and Descendants trilogy are among some of the top movies also directed by Ortega. Additional director credits include TV series, The Gilmore Girls, and Ally McBeal. Ortega has worked with many big stars including Michael Jackson, Madonna, Cher, Gloria Estefan, and Elton John.

In July 2019, Ortega was given a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, in Hollywood, CA. The latest of Ortega’s directing is Netflix’s TV series Julie and the Phantoms. IMDB states that Julie and the Phantoms is about a teenage girl who finds her passion for music and life with the help of a high concept band of teen boys (The Phantoms) who have been dead for 25 years. Julie and the Phantoms cast is Madison Reyes, Charlie Gillespie, Jadah Marie, Savannah Lee May, Bobboo Stewart, Marci T. House, Cheyenne Jackson, Victoria Caro, Vicky Lambert, Jennifer-Juniper Angeli, Guilherme Babilonia and is set to release September 10th, 2020.
