McAllen, TX – Joeseph Martinez has been named Weather Anchor for Noticias Telemundo 40 fin de semana at Telemundo 40 Rio Grande Valley / KTLM, local television station serving the Spanish-speaking community throughout South Texas’s Rio Grande Valley. Martinez joins News Anchor Ana Cecilia Mendez, Sports Anchor Hector Zapata and a team of reporters to help provide Spanish-speaking viewers in the Rio Grande Valley the most-up-to-date local breaking news and weather forecasts. Martinez will make his on-air debut in late February 2016.
“Joeseph’s experience and background in forecasting weather and meteorological events will add to the powerful teledoppler system we have so we can provide our viewers with the most precise weather information they need,” said Miguel Angel López, News Director, Telemundo 40.
Martinez joins Telemundo 40 after concluding his Broadcast Meteorology internship at Puerto Rico TV / WIPR in 2015. Before this, Martinez also conducted climatology research at the National Weather Service in Brownsville, Texas. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the University of Puerto Rico and is a member of the American Meteorological Society, Puerto Rico chapter.
