Intrigue Acquires Chilean Comedy Series For U.S. Audiences

Los Angeles, CA – Intrigue Los Angeles based production company specializing in taking foreign projects and adapting them for U.S. TV  has acquired the format rights to Pushovers, a crime-comedy series originating from Chile.   Intrigue will produce the US version of the hit show which the indie producer acquired from Latin Media Corporation.

Pushovers focuses on a group of workers who, when unexpectedly laid off from their long-standing jobs, decide to steal from their former employer to make ends meet.  Unfortunately, they’re caught by the company’s true owners – a crime syndicate that tells them they’ll be committing crimes for them from now on.

Pushovers offers hilarious moments as each episode thrusts our incompetent protagonists into dangerous and exciting situations they have unintentionally place themselves in – and have zero idea how to escape from.  Pushovers is ensemble comedy at its best,” said Tariq Jalil, President of Intrigue.

Intrigue specializes in the development of television formats for the U.S .marketplace having had success with their Operation Repo,  a series based on an original Spanish format from Telemundo, which is in its eleventh season on American television with over 200 episodes produced.
