A benefit performance El Canto de Carlota (Charlotte’s Song) presented by Hispanic Organization of Latin Actors (HOLA) and OneHeart Productions will be held on Sunday, April 19, 2015 at 5pm at the Flamboyán Theater, Clemente Soto Vélez Cultural and Educational Center
El canto de Carlota (Charlotte’s Song) written by Nancy Ferragallo, is a performance-
based experimental work that explores a daughter’s reality of growing up with her emotionally disabled mother and how that impacted her life and healing process. A mother’s love transcends all dimensions. It is a poetic collective of monologues, dialogue-driven scenes and movement theater in the style of the Tanz Theater of Pina Bausch.
The Spanish-language world premiere of El Canto de Carlota is a one-night only benefit for HOLA.
The production stars Yvette Quintero, Mario Golden, and Celeste Hastings under the direction of Andreas Robertz and Mario Golden with Nancy Ferragallo and Celeste Hastings as co-choreographers. Golden also translated the play into Spanish.
In celebration of HOLA’s 40th anniversary (and its “40 For 40 fundraising campaign”), all tickets will be $40 ($35 for HOLA Members/Friends of HOLA; limit of two per HOLA member/Friend). Tickets are available by calling (212) 253-1015 or (888) 624-HOLA (4652). A percentage of the ticket sales will benefit HOLA.
Seating is limited, so buying your ticket in advance is highly recommended. Donations to the “40 For 40 campaign” are also accepted.
