Zoe Saldana will be receiving the Outstanding Achievement Award at the 2017 NALIP Media Summit. Saldana will be honored at NALIP’s Latino Media Awards, where leading Latino/a media makers in the industry are recognized for their achievements and contributions in the industry. The awards gala will take place on Saturday, June 23, 2017 at the Ray Dolby Ballroom on Hollywood and Highland.
Zoe Saldana is the epitome of a true star in Hollywood, and has built her reputation as a versatile and respected actress by choosing roles that she feels passionately about.
Currently, Saldana is filming Avengers: Infinity Wars, where she will reprise her role as the fan-favorite ‘Gamora,’ which is slated to release in 2018. She is best known for her starring roles in the Blockbuster franchises, Star Trek, Guardians of the Galaxy and the record breaking film, Avatar a James Cameron’s sci-fi thriller, co-starring Sigourney Weaver and Sam Worthington. Avatar quickly became the highest grossing film of all time, winning the 2010 Golden Globe for Best Director and Best Picture.
Furthermore, Saldana is spending time behind the camera with her film production company Cinestar. A company founded with her sisters has a YouTube channel and has original scripted and non scripted creative content like Rose Roundtable. Cinestar also produced the NBC Mini-Series Rosemary’s Baby as well as The AOL Digital series My Hero. Saldana teamed up with the millennial mom-geared network Awestruck to create digital content for AwesomenessTV. Additionally, Saldana is a UN Goodwill Ambassador, and engages in meaningful philanthropic work including the charity initiative Shot@life, and taking part in efforts with Brave Beginnings, The Step Up Network, The Haiti Relief Inc. and FINCA. Born and raised in New York, when not on location, she resides in Los Angeles with her husband and three boys.
