Pasadena, CA – LA’s own Willie Barcena returns to the Ice House Comedy Club on April 27. He will be joined by fan favorite Tina Kim (Last Comic Standing, VH-1’s Super Secret Movie Rules, Comics Unleashed.)
Willie Barcena‘s blue-collar upbringing in East L.A. and innate people skills gave him the ability to connect with a wide variety of cultures. Jobs as a security guard, plumber, roofer and limo driver showed him the humor in everyday life. Growing up in the diversity of Southern California taught Willie that people have more similarities than differences. That knowledge is the foundation of Barcena’s comedy, and his relatable humor crosses cultural and economic boundaries. His philosophy: know who you are and have people laugh with you, not at you.
Willie’s street-smart wit along with his mother’s “just use common sense, dummy!” attitude impressed Jay Leno enough to bring Willie back for ten appearances on The Tonight Show. Other TV appearances include Moesha, The Wayans Brothers, and hosting the popular Si-TV production Latino Laugh Festival – The Show. He has also made multiple appearances on tours such as Que Locos, Latino Laugh Festival, Montreal’s Just for Laughs, and Crown Royal Latin All Stars Comedy Explosion. Recently, Willie’s one-hour Comedy Central special debuted to rave reviews.
