Transcendent Entertainment’s Teams with Award Winning screenwriter Oscar Torres
Los Angeles — Transcendent Entertainment, an independent film studio led by Danny Rodriguez, announced that it has begun pre-production of the film Boom Town, a new western-action-drama film starring William Levy (Dancing with The Stars, Single Ladies).
“I love Boom Town because it’s a love story between a love and a woman; [also] a story about the unbreakable bond between a father and his little girl,” said Levy. “And it’s the story of an everyday man stepping up and becoming a hero, something all of us as children dream of becoming one day” concludes the Latin dancing sensation.
Produced by award-winning screenwriter Oscar Torres (Innocent Voices, Mancora) and written by Christian Sesma (Shoot The Hero, I’m Not Like That No More), Boom Town is slated for a summer 2013 release and tells the story of a savvy businessman (William Levy) in the early 1900’s, who becomes the target of a corrupt border town sheriff and a notorious land boss after they discover that he’s sitting on a fortune. But this unassuming young man might be more of a hustler than anyone knows.
“It is the perfect timing for a project like Boom Town,” says Transcendent Entertainment founder Danny Rodriguez (Down for Life, King of The Avenue, Mooz-lum). “I could not be more excited about the team behind this project from the wonderful writer to a multifaceted performer like William Levy.” Also attached to the film are Alfred Molina, Chris Cooper and Danny Trejo.
“The men will love the action and the women the charm and talent that someone like William Levy brings to the big- screen”, concludes the award winning filmmaker Oscar Torres.
This dynamic team of filmmakers comes together under the Transcendent Entertainment an independent film studio the company founded by Rodriguez. A well versed filmmaker, Rodriguez has worked with multicultural talent, in particular U.S. Latinos to make movies that appeal to all audiences.
The studio has recently completed principal photography of a high-end drama titled Salvation starring Ryan Donowho and award-winning Mexican powerhouse Giovanna Zacarias. The film, now in post-production, has its eye on Sundance 2013 and a spring release of the same year. Transcendent Entertainment is currently developing several stories that will heighten the level of qualify films featuring lead Hispanic talent and target all audiences across the nation.
