Congratulations to Jesse Garcia who has been cast in the first El Rey Network original series From Dust Til Dawn is based on Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino’s horror cult film by the same name. The first episode was written and is directed by Rodriguez. Cast as the “bad boys” are DJ Cotrona and Zane Holtz who play brothers. Garcia’s character of the Texas Ranger who is in hot pursuit of the brothers is new to the storyline and on this occasion Garcia gets to don the “good guy” hat. While filming in Austin, TX, Garcia keeps up with his social media, counting down the production days by posting “Third day in…” on his Facebook Page.
The El Rey Network launches in mid-December while the From Dust Til Dawn 10-episode drama series will premiere in early 2014. Garcia is repped by TalentWorks, Evolution and Mark Wetzstein.
According to TheWrap, Emily Rios (The Bridge, Breaking Bad) and Kirk Acevedo (Fringe, OZ, Person of Interest) have been cast as guest stars in the NBC supernatural thriller TV series Grimm on the episode entitled “The Good Soldier”. Both Acevedo and Rios will play veteran soldiers, Ron Hurd and Frankie Gonzales respectively. The episode will air early 2014.
Grimm is created and executive produced by Stephen Carpenter, David Greenwalt and Jim Kouf. One of the other four EPs is Norberto Barba. Acevedo is repped by Abrams Entertainment. Rios is repped by Domain Talent and Kass Management.
Grimm” airs Fridays at 9/8c on NBC.
