VIVALatinoFilmFest

Film Submissions Deadline:  December 2014

There is new festival in NYC which aims to fill the void the New York Latino International Film Festival left when it closed up shop in 2013. The First Annual,Viva Latino Film Festival NYC International hopes to fill the void in the city’s cultural Latino film festival landscape.  Premiering in February 19th, 2015 the four day festival will run until February 22, 2105.

The festival will showcase emerging and established Latino filmmakers from the U.S., Mexico, and Latin America. Founder Steven Del Castro says, “We are grateful for the volume of submissions thus far but more importantly we are fortunate to see a glimpse of what these filmmakers have to offer now and for the foreseeable future.” He feels that other lesser known talented filmmakers deserve a platform where they are offered not only support but distribution opportunities. In addition, the festival will not only screen the best of Latino-American, urban, and international feature films, short films, documentaries but also additional multi-media content such as web-series, TV series pilots, music videos and animation.

Special events, and special invited network executives, film distributors, and other media representatives will participate in the panel discussions and Q&A sessions that will surround the festival screenings.

Del Castro says they are encouraging more Latina filmmakers to enter their films as they anticipate and expect the industry to have more woman behind the lense in the very near future.

The festival call for submissions which will end in December.   For further information please contact info@VLFFI.COM www.VLFFI.com https://www.facebook.com/vivalatinofilmfestivalnyc?ref=stream
