TheWrap is pleased to open submissions to its 6th Annual ShortList Film Festival, highlighting the best in short filmmaking from around the world.

The Festival will stream online for two weeks from August 8 – 22nd at http://www.shortlistfilmfestival.com, with the winners announced at a ceremony in Los Angeles on August 23, 2017.
The ShortList Film Festival, now in its sixth year, elevates the best in short filmmaking as the format has exploded across every device in the age of streaming.
The contest selects twelve of the best award-winning short films that have premiered at a major festival in the past year, making this the most highly competitive film festival of its kind. The festival awards the Jury Prize and the Audience Prize, each of which award $5,000 to the winner.
ShortList finalists and winners have frequently gone on to greater recognition within the entertainment industry. The 2016 Jury Winner, Maman(s), won the Cesar award for best short film. The 2015 ShortList Audience and Jury winner, Bear Story, won the 2015 Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film.
The Award-Winning Shorts Competition is for films up to 20 minutes in length that have received an award.
This year, the festival adds a student category for the first time. The top 10 film schools have been invited to submit their top student films, and will participate in this year’s competition. The films will also be voted on by TheWrap’s audience.
