Vannessa Vasquez
TheTRENDTalk show was created to present relatable content to audiences which speaks to the essence of who Latinos are. It is also designed to give a voice and spotlight to celebrate Latinas who are an economic and social powerhouse in the United States according to the 2017 Nielsen report.
In this week’s episode, Vannessa Vasquez shared with hosts Naibe Reynoso and Bel Hernandez her meteoric rise in tinseltown. Arriving just five short years ago, she soon landed a starring role in Hulu’s East Los High which lead to getting Hollywood’s attention. She was recently cast in the ABC Network’s Safe Harbor (which has now changed its name to The Mission). Plus she tells us about her going to Mexico to find her father who she hadn’t seen since she was a little girl.
Also in studio, we speak to Mora, whose face is recognizable from all the film (Coco), TV (The Bridge) and stage. He also talks about his upcoming role in Amazon’s Goliath. Vidal Herrera is known in and around Hollywood as El Muerto — the Dead One, because of his line of business – the Death business. He now does private autopsies, sells coffin furniture and teaches actors like Will Smith how to do surgery on a brain! He is one call away, 1800autopsy.com.
Reynoso and Hernandez always start off the show with a lively discussion and this week they are talking about “minimalism” — living without much, and without clutter is supposed to be good for you.
TheTRENDTalk has been airing almost two years and was created by two entrepreneurial women, Bel Hernandez, CEO of Latin Heat Media and author & Naibe Reynoso, Emmy Award Journalist and mother of two.
In less than two short years, TheTRENDTalk has gone from airing on an Inland Empire TV station with 160K viewership to their new home, local L.A. broadcast, online and cable network, METV Network with a viewership of over 4 million. TheTRENDTalk just concluded a full season of 13 episodes and they are currently in production of the second season of 13 additional episodes.
