The Victorious Life of Victoria Justice

Acting, Singing and a Social Conscious

Victoria Justice’s road to stardom began as a model at the age of 8.  It now includes her own nickelodeon show Victorious, several features, and a burgeoning musical career as a singer/songwriter.  In her 11 years in the business, Justice has built her brand and knows how to make the most out of it.

Growing up in South Beach, Florida, Victoria already knew that a career in entertainment was in her future.  Her family eventually move to Los Angeles after Justice began booking such shows as The Gilmore Girls, The Suite Life of Zack & Cody and a major role alongside Forest Whitaker, Marion Cotillard and Matthew Modine in the 2005 thriller Mary.  That same year Justice joined the cast of Nickelodeon’s Zoey 101 as Lola Martinez and was on the show till it ended in 2008.  She went on to star in other television shows and specials honing her acting chops and expanding on her musical career

By 2010, Dan Schneider (creator of Zoey 101) who had seen her musical career blossom during the years of working together on Zoey 101, created Victorious to showcase Victoria’s talents.  Victorious debuted on March of 2012 to 5.7 million viewers, the highest rated premiere for a live-action Nickelodeon series. Victorious  gives Victoriathe opportunity to showcase her singing as she plays Tory Vega a student at the Hollywood Arts High, an elite performing arts high school.  Seven DVD have been released to date with Victoria and the rest of the case singing.

Aware of how lucky she is to have this wonderful career, Victoria credits her mom for being instrumental in getting her started on her journey, “She believed in me when I said I wanted to pursue a career in acting,” she says.  And Victoria has been going ever since.

Not one to be phased with the lack of downtime Victoria says, “I usually get 6 days off so I work 95 % of the time but its my work,  I love it!  And feel very lucky I get to do what I do”.    During the summer break from her show, Victoria will be off to a 20 venue singing tour across the nation and into Puerto Rico. You have to love what you do because there is little time for a life away from her fans. (Tour Schedule) In between the performing Victoria gets involved with important social issues.  In the month of May, Victoria signed up as a satellite partner for the Allstate Foundation and National Organizations for Youth Safety® (NOYS) to encourage young adults to Act Out Loud® for stronger teen driving laws.  “Summer is a deadly time for teens with phone use texting,” Victoria states.  “The campaign encourages teen that if they are in a car where someone is driving and texting to speak up and let your friends know that its dangerous.”

Later this fall Victoria’s will be seen in her first feature film role in Fun Size alongside Chelsea Handler and Johnny Knoxville. She plays a teenager who loses her little brother when they go trick-or-treating in the comedy directed by Josh Schwartz.

With a passion for acting, performing and important social issues, Victoria just too cool.
