Los Angeles, CA – Yesterday, a group of talented independent producers officially launched a Kickstarter campaign to finish their horror/thriller movie Gringos. Producers, Luis Guerrero (Armored) and Chris Lemos (Armored, Beyond the Lights) through their company Vital Pictures, were able to shoot the film in 18 days with the support of some investors and the tirelessly dedication of cast and crew members. However, as most of the indie filmmakers eager to deliver high quality movies, they found challenges on their way. Unexpectedly, one of the sponsors abandoned the project and left Guerrero and Lemos without the financial support to cover outstanding costs to complete the post-production process of the movie (Music, sound design and mixing, color correction, and minimal VFX).
The producers of Gringo have been able to learn a lot from great producers in Hollywood like Scott Rudin, Donald De Line, Moctesuma Esparza and Mike Medavoy whom helped them refine the art of filmmaking. They have put all lessons learned into their film and as true indie filmmakers are ready to forge on.
Gringos is the story of a group of undocumented workers who are hired by a wealthy white woman, Liz Rhodes (Lynn Collins), with the promise of their biggest payday. Once inside Liz’s house, the group of immigrants discover the terrifying destiny she has prepared for them.
