Eva Longoria is the COOList!
How cool is it to have not one pilot, but four picked up in one pilot season? For all of you who didn’t like Eva Longoria’s Ready for Love dating show and were asking for a show with Latinos with substance. Well check out the four pilots Eva has just sold to ABC and NBC. They are Pair of Aces about a two rising Latino politicians, Telenovela about a –guess what? — yes a telenovela star and her exploits; Critical about a Latina doctor who goes back home to practice; then there is the Untitled ABC pilot about a Mia, a successful home renovator who can’t stop problem solving (which Eva is considering to star in). More substance indeed!
Oh Yeah, all this in between…recently starred alongside Oscar nominated Ed Harris and award winning actor Michael Peña in the indie film Frontera, executive producing the ALMA Awards which will be telecast live on MSNBC on October 10th, she was also a speaker and presenter at the 8th Annual Clinton Global Citizen Award presenting to farmworkers depicted in her documentary Food Chains. And earlier this year she found time to executive produce and make her directorial debut on Lifetime’s Devious Maids
Rosie Perez is “The Best Thing about The View”
Haven’t we’ve been Saying it for years? (With actress/comedienne Dyana Ortelli being the loudest), The View needed to put Latinas on their show. We have been vindicated!! People Magazine proclaimed “Rosie Perez Is the Best Thing About the New View”. That is right “the New View”! It finally got with the times and brought on board a Latina. Hello, guess who is now tuning into your show ABC? Latinas!
I heard this week Rosie gave a shout out to Latinos on the occasion of Latino Heritage month, making all the community part of the “talk” on The View. Ya era tiempo! Leave a comment if you are one of the Latina that tuned in to see Rosie!
Busy Actor Michael Peña Interested in The Martian
Michael Pena promoting Gracepoint at the TCA press tour
To say that Michael Peña is one busy actor in Hollywood would be an understatement! His major high profile film Fury, in which he plays one of the WW2 soldiers alongside Brad Pitt is set to release October 17th. Pena reunites with his End of Watch director David Ayer who wrote the role specifically for him.
Currently Pena is also starring in the FOX TV series as Mark Solano Gracepoint, and now trying to see how his busy schedule might also allow him to star alongside Matt Damon in Fox’s sci-fi film The Martian that is set to be directed by Ridley Scott. The story is based on Andy Weir’s book about an astronaut who gets stranded on Mars.
CAA is loving all the work their client Michael is getting and so are we!
