“The Conduct of Life” by Maria Irene Fornés Comes To Inner City Arts

Full Company Announced

Hero Theatre announced the full company for its upcoming production of The? Conduct of Life by famed Cuban-American playwright, Maria Irene Fornés. The production will be directed by the Artistic Director of the Los Angeles Theatre Center, José Luis Valenzuela.

The cast includes Hero Theatre acting ensemble members Elisa Bocanegra, Nick Caballero, Antonia Cruz-Kent, Polly Humphreys, Jonathan Medina and Adriana Sevahn Nichols.

The creative team includes François-Pierre Couture (Set Design), John Zalewski (Sound Design), Carlos Brown (Costume Design) and Johnny Garofalo (Lighting Design). The production will take place ?June 8-June 25, 2017? at the Rosenthal Theater at Inner City Arts in Los Angeles.

Last Spring, Hero Theatre presented Festival Irene: Celebrating Master Playwright Fornés. The festival included staged readings of plays by Fornés and her esteemed students including Pulitzer-winning Nilo Cruz, Luis Alfaro and Lisa Loomer.

As part of the festival, Passholders were able to vote on which Fornés play they wanted to see a full production of. The Conduct of Life ? was chosen.  Hero Theatre has also announced that Festival Irene?

will transfer to New York City in November 2017 and will be sponsored by New York University. Partner theaters in the New York transfer include INTAR, Theater for the New City, Mabou Mines and LaMama E.
