Cross.Ruiz.TheBridge

Season Two Premiere, July 9, 10 ET/PT

As the current crises of thousands of immigrant children at the border ages on, season two of FX’s The Bridge will bring us back to the other realities on the border.  In the end they are all interconnected.  The award-winning show and cast Demian Bichir, Diane Kruger, Matthew Lillard, Emily Rios, Ramon Franco, and Alejandro Patino are back for season two as life continues at a criminal pace at the El Paso/Juarez border.

Back with thirteen more episodes, The Bridge premiers tonight and continues on Wednesdays, 10 ET/PT.  Season two winds down the first serial killer story that drove the action and there will be a new serial killer to pursue.  The series will also explore a broad range of topics, from the sociopolitical subjects of drug cartels, immigration and poverty along the U.S.-Mexican border.  It’s late in the game for new stories to be interjected, but the topic of immigrant children traveling to the U.S. might be interesting.

In the season opener we find the relationship between detectives Sonya Cross (Kruger) and Marco Ruiz (Bichir) a bit estranged as each is dealing with personal issues.  Cross’ is dealing with her sister’s death while Ruiz has the death of his son to work through.

They partner up again after a cartel member is found dead in the USA. And so the border crime solving team gets to work.  Meanwhile Fry (Lillard) and Adriana (Rios) investigate the origins of the “money House and a mysterious woman crosses the bridge into El Paso.

This season Fausto Galvan (Franco) hires a new employee.  Eleanor Nacht (Franka Potente), Galvan’s new “accountant” is a shunned Mennonite is out for revenge.
