Televisa and MiTu Join Forces


Culver City, CA –  MiTú (www.MiTú inc.com) announced last week that it has signed a multi-year, multi-platform deal with Televisa, the largest media company in the Spanish-speaking world. Their aim is to acquire and produce culturally relevant content that will resonate among today’s English and Spanish-speaking audiences consuming entertainment in a variety of ways.

Through this partnership, Televisa will leverage both MiTú’s digital expertise, as well as its roster of emerging U.S. Latino talent to develop innovative content, concepts and formats across various digital platforms. This includes tapping MiTú’s influencers to increase engagement among these global audiences in a variety of verticals.  MiTú will produce properties to meet the demand of today’s young digital audiences thirsty for English and Spanish speaking content in the United States, Mexico and beyond.

As major media companies coalesce to bring more digital content to consumers, Televisa will work closely with MiTú to distribute content in a strategic manner, allowing for brands or potential partners to tap Televisa’s diversified media and communications portfolio.

MiTú is led by Latino TV industry veterans Doug Greiff, Beatriz Acevedo, and Roy Burstin, MiTú Network launched in Q2 of 2012 and is the largest and fastest growing Latino focused multi-channel network, with nearly 43 million global subscribers and more than 450 million monthly views and 1300 partner channels.  Most recently, MiTú announced the company raised $10 million in Series B funding. The round was led by LA-based venture capital firm Upfront Ventures, the original investors behind Maker Studios.
