Telemundo’s Prime Show ‘Gran Oportunidad’ Outperforms Univision

The Premiere Show Ranked as the #1 Spanish-language Broadcast Program on Sunday Night

Miami, FL – The premiere of Telemundo’s new Sunday night competition show, Gran Oportunidad delivered 1,002,000 total viewers and 464,000 adults 18-49, according to Nielsen. Produced by TV icon Mario Kreutzberger, “Don Francisco,” the show outperformed the premiere of Univision’s Pase VIP by +9% (vs. 918,000) among total viewers and +26% (vs. 368,000) among adults 18-49. Gran Oportunidad also ranked as the #1 broadcast program on Spanish-language television.

Locally, the show ranked as the #1 Spanish-language program at 9pm among adults 18-49 in Los Angeles, Orlando, Philadelphia and Boston, and #1 regardless of language, in Miami and San Francisco in the same demo. Among total viewers, it was the #1 Spanish-language program at 9pm in Los Angeles, Houston, San Francisco, Phoenix, Orlando, Tampa and Boston, and #1 regardless of language in Miami in the same demo.

Gran Oportunidad is a competition show hosted by Raul Gonzalez and Ana Lorena Sanchez. Each episode features contestants with surprising talents and extraordinary abilities, who will have 90 seconds to appear before judges Alicia Machado, Roberto Tapia, Alexis Valdes and Noel Torres. The best contestants of the season will participate in the grand finale in which the winner will take home $50,000.
