Los Angeles, CA – Diego Boneta will play the internationally known Mexican crooner Luis Miguel in Luis Miguel La Serie. Telemundo and Netflix this week shared the first official video of in the series.
Luis Miguel is a world-renowned Mexican singer and an icon in Latin America, he is often referred to as El Sol de México (The Sun of Mexico). He is widely regarded by many as the most successful artist in Latin American history, having successfully performed in a wide range of musical styles, including pop, ballads, boleros, tangos, jazz, big band and mariachi. To date, he has sold over 100 million records worldwide.

This is the advance Luis Miguel La Serie trailer, where we see Mexican actor Boneta, as the world-renowned singer and in character says, “Music is a very difficult world, it is a very sacrificed career. Sometimes I ask myself if all was worth it.” Throughout the series, we see the singer overcome an array of difficulties in his pursuit of fame. He tackles challenges, makes sacrifices, and breaks world records to become one of the most famous Latino singers in history.
Luis Miguel La Serie, the official, authorized biopic of the popular Mexican singer Luis Miguel is being produced by Gato Grande Productions, in conjunction with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios, Inc. (MGM). The series will be available in the United States and Puerto Rico on Telemundo, and through Netflix in Latin America and Spain in 2018. Its premiere date will be announced soon.

In addition to Mexican actor/singer Diego Boneta as Luis Miguel, the cast includes Óscar Jaenada as Luis’ dad Luis Rey, Camila Sodi as his love of his life and Juanpa Zurita as his brother Alex.
An important figure in Luis Miguel’s life, throughout the most difficult times, Luis’ father and manager, Luis Rey was there for him. Luis Rey is played by Óscar Jaenada (Cantinflas).
The series in available in the US and Puerto Rico on Telemundo, and on Netflix in Latina America and Spain in 2018.
