Salma Hayek to Executive Produce and Star First U.S. TV Series

Los Angeles, CA – Mexican actress Salma Hayek is set to star and produce a comedy series along with producer Paul Feig (The Heat, Spy).  The Oscar-nominated actress will executive produce with producing partner Jose Tamez via her Ventanarosa, a production company Hayek founded in 1999.

Although this project will mark Hayek´s debut as a series regular in a U.S. TV series, she has guest starred in NBC’s 30 Rock and on ABC’s Ugly Betty, which she also executive produced. Her entry into producing began with her first collaboration on El Coronel No Tiene Quien le Escriba, which went on to be Mexico’s official selection for submission to the best foreign film category at the Academy Awards.

The comedy series is set in the world of international diplomacy and being written by Patty Breen(Divorce).

Feig and Jessie Henderson will executive produce via Feigco Entertainment alongside Imagine’s Brian Grazer and Francie Calfo. The potential series is in negotiations at Amazon.

Hayek Pinault was recently seen in Eugenio Derbez´s film How To Be a Latin Lover and Beatriz at Dinner, which earned her an Indie Spirit Award nomination.
