There is a new programming trend when it comes to booking U.S. Latino on Spanish language shows. Not too long ago you would be hard pressed to find U.S. English speaking Latinos celebrities on any Univision shows in the States, even though they spoke Spanish. That has been changing lately.    Case in point, Univision just announced that actress Roselyn Sanchez will be a guest host on their hit show Mira Quien Baila (Look Who’s Dancing) .

Puerto Rican actress, producer, and singer Sanchez will be making her return to music with a highly anticipated performance of her new song Pick Up Your Game on the finale of Mira Quien Baila airing this Sunday Nov 24th on Univision.  Sanchez will also be a presenter at the 14th Annual Latin Grammy Awards, which again airs on Univision.  Although Sanchez showcases her musical talent on the show, she is eager to release a single of her own.

“I’m beyond excited about returning to music again! I’m doing it for fun and for my love of dancing.  I really just want people to dance and smile to this song,” Sanchez said.

Sanchez’s role as Isabella Molina, an undercover CIA agent in Rush Hour 2 jump started her career in U.S. films, paving the way for several more films roles and to series regular roles in such TV series as Dragnet, Kojak, Without a Trace. Currently Sanchez is starring in Lifetime’s Devious Maids where plays Carmen Luna, a maid who works for a Latin popstar in hopes of becoming a professional singer herself.

Her music career began in 2003 when she released her debut cd entitled Borinque?a.  She was nominated for a Latin Grammy for “Best Music Video”for the single Amor Amor which she also performed at the 2004 Latin Grammy ceremony.  Sanchez also composed the musical Yellow, about a singer/dancer/actress who leaves Puerto Rico to hit the big time in New York, in which she played the principal part. The movie was filmed in 2005 and released in 2007.
