On May 3, HBO Latino presents Romeo Santos in The Kind Stays King – Sold Out at Madison Square Garden. The special, which premieres at 8:00 p.m.ET/7:00 p.m.C), spotlights Romeo’s first solo tour with highlights from three sold-out concerts at the iconic Madison Square Garden in New York City. The nearly 2-hour special features Romeo performing many of his hits, exclusive interviews, never-before-seen footage of Romeo during the days leading up to the concert, plus on-stage performances with guest stars P. Diddy, Usher, Wisin & Yandel and more.
The Kind Stays King – Sold Out at Madison Square Garden will also be featured on HBO GO® and on HBO On Demand® within “HBO Documentaries, Specials and HBO Documentaries, Feature Films” categories. In addition, the concert special will be accompanied by a “second screen experience” on Facebook.com/HBOLatino to include exclusive video commentary by Romeo, insight from Romeo’s musicians and crew about the show, opportunities for fans to chat live and much more.
The Kind Stays King concert tour celebrates the launch of Bronx-born, Romeo Santos’ solo career and debut album Fórmula Vol. 1. On March 12, 2013, Romeo’s Fórmula Vol. 1 tied Enrique Iglesias’ nearly 20 year-old record for the most number one songs from one album on Billboard’s Latin Airplay charts. Fórmula Vol. 1 was also recognized by Billboard as the #1 selling Latin album of 2012. The album, which features a blend of English and Spanish tracks, including the chart-toppers You, Promise featuring Usher, La Diabla (The She-Devil), Mi Santa (My Saint) and Rival, featuring Mario Domm from the popular Mexican rock band, Camila). Fórmula Vol. 1 has been certified triple platinum in sales and has garnered numerous nominations and awards from Billboard and the Grammys.
