Los Angeles, CA – HBO has confirmed fall debut for the new series Westworld, where Brazilian actor Rodrigo Santoro will give life to Harlan Bell, a terrifying and brutal bandit in the futuristic theme park called Westworld.
Santoro is known for his performance in Warner Bros. 300, based on the Frank Miller‘s graphic novel, which broke box office records throughout the world.
He has won a total of eight Best Actor awards, including the first ever award for Best Actor from the Brazilian Academy of Arts and Film, for his portrayal of a young man forced into a mental institution by his parents in Brainstorm.
The one-hour drama series Westworld is a dark odyssey about the dawn of artificial consciousness and the evolution of sin. Set at the intersection of the near future and the reimagined past, it explores a world in which every human appetite, no matter how noble or depraved, can be indulged.
The new TV series is based on Michael Crichton’s hit book and the cult favorite ’70s movie of the same name.
The cast of the 10-episode series also includes Anthony Hopkins, Ed Harris, Evan Rachel Wood, James Marsden, Thandie Newton, Jeffrey Wright, Tessa Thompson, Sidse Babett Knudsen and Jimmi Simpson. J.J. Abrams, Jerry Weintraub and Bryan Burk will executive produce.
Santoro is repped by ICM Partners and Brillstein Entertainment.
