Los Angeles, CA – Narcos actor Pedro Pascal has been added to the cast of Sony’s sequel The Equalizer 2, where the Chilean American actor will play the antagonist in the sequel alongside star and producer of the film Denzel Washington.
Based on the TV show The Equalizer, the sequel stars Denzel Washington Oscar winner Melissa Leo and Bill Pullman who will reprise their original roles. The Equalizer 2 continues the neo noir vigilante action thriller genre and will once again be directed by Antoine Fuqua. The producers also include Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal, Steve Tisch, Alex Siskin, Michael Sloan, Tony Eldridge and Mace Neufeld and is currently set for release next year on Sept. 14, 2018.
For Pascal, this represents a major step in his trajectory as an actor in Hollywood. Pascal is well known to TV audiences as he has appeared in numerous television series, including Buffy the Vampire Slayer, The Good Wife, Homeland, The Mentalist and Law and Order: Criminal Intent. Game of Throne fans will remember him as Oberyn Martell which he played in the fourth on HBO.
Pascal, who is currently busy playing the role of DEA agent Javier Peña on the Netflix series, can also bee seen in Matthew Vaughn’s upcoming film Kingsman 2: The Golden Circle starring Taron Egerton, Colin Firth, Julianne Moore and Channing Tatum.
