Alma Martinez Cast in OWN’s Queen Sugar and Upcoming project

Television audiences remember Alma Martinez as Graciela, the imposing drug cartel lady boss in FX’s The Bridge, but that was twelve roles ago, since then more roles on television and film have kept her busy.  Martinez was just seen in FX’s American Crime Story where she had a recurring role as a Judge.  On Film she co-stars along side Kevin Bacon in Blumhouse’s The Darkness which will be released on May 13, 2016.  Today Martinez begins shooting her latest gig Queen Sugar for OWN TV.  Created by Ava DuVernay and Oprah Winfrey, who will also have a role in the series, while DuVernay will direct. The TV series is based on the novel of the same name, written by Natalie Baszile.

But wait there is more, later  this year Martinez will also be seen in Warner Bros. Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice and the indie film Traspecos which also stars, Cliffton Collins, Jr. (Pacific Rim), Lora Martinez-Cunningham (Book of Eli), and Gabriel Luna (Matador

Adam Rodriguez Cast as Recurring on Chunk & Bean

Adam Rodriguez (CSI: Miami) will be co-starring in ABC comedy pilot Chunk & Bean, focused on misfit pals.  He continues his recurring role on Jane the Virgin playing Jane’s professor however in the last episodes, it’s looking like there is a romantic twist for Jan and hopefully we will be seeing more of him there!
