Netflix-Univision Drama “Tijuana” Casts Damián Alcázar And Tamara Vallarta 


Los Angeles, CA – Mexican actor Damián Alcázar (Narcos, La Ley de Herodes) and actress and model Tamara Vallarta have joined the cast of Tijuana, an original drama co-produced by Netflix and Univision.

Tijuana tells the story of two reporters, who will risk their lives to show the truth behind the assassination of a presidential front-runner in Mexico.

Alcázar will play Antonio Borja, co-founder and director of the renowned newspaper Frente Tijuana, and Vallarta plays Gabriela Cisneros, a young reporter fighting her way into her newsroom. Additional cast announced includes Claudette MailleRodrigo Abed, Tete Espinosa, Rolf Petersen and Ivan Aragon.


“Tijuana matters because this is a critical time to be talking about what journalists around the world face every day in the pursuit of the truth, particularly in Mexico,” said Camila Jiménez Villa, President and CEO of FMG Studios.

Daniel Posada and Hammudi Al-Rahmoun Font  will serve as showrunners with Enid ‘Pinky’ Campos and Joceline Hernández serving as producers. Isaac Lee, Camila Jiménez Villa, Christian Gabela and Rodrigo Mazón are executive producing.

Tijuana is scheduled to start production next month and will air in the U.S. on Univision Network and debut globally on Netflix.
