Mónica Huarte Stars In Blim’s First Sit-Com “40 and 20”

Los Angeles, CA – Mexican actress Mónica Huarte (Without Men, Volverte a Ver) will give life to Rocío, an obsessive and neurotic divorced woman with two children in Televisa’s first original sitcom series, 40 and 20 that will air on their new streaming platform Blim.  40 and 20 is written and produced by film and television director Gustavo Loza.

Mónica, is an award-winning actress who recently played the role of  Luz Ma in the Pantelion Film feature, Busco Novio Para Mi Mujer which was recently released in the US February 19, and which starred Sandra Echeverria, Arath de la Torre, and Jesus Ochoa.

She won Best Actress in 2007 for her role as Daniela in Tired of Kissing Frogs and in 2009 for Best Supporting Actress for her role as Rita in Volverte a ver. Monica was also nominated for Best Supporting Actress at the 2012 Imagen Awards for her role as Cecilia in Without Men, starring opposite Eva Longoria. Several of her other notable credits include the short film Wedding Night, written and directed by Oscar nominee Carlos Cuarón.


Monica’s acting career began in theater at an early age when her father would take her to the theater every weekend. She graduated with a degree in Hispanic-American Literature from Ibero University in Mexico City. As an actress, Monica has trained at several world-renowned acting schools, including the Interlochen Arts Academy in Michigan, El Foro de la Ribera and Casa del Teatro in Mexico City, the Juan Carlos Corazza Studio in Madrid, Spain, and the Stellar Adler Studio in Los Angeles, California.

Huarte is also a passionate humanitarian and is currently working  with the Mexican non-profit organization, Owen. The organization provides emotional therapy to underprivileged people who suffer from cerebral palsy by training Labrador dogs to become therapy companions.
