MundoFox’s New Series “El Rey David” is Epic Biblical Tale

Epic Biblical Tale of a Man from Humble Origins who

Became a Great Leader

Los Angeles – MundoFox today announced the premiere of El Rey David (King David), an epic new series that brings to life the story of a man from humble origins whose wisdom and bravery helped him ascend to the throne of ancient Israel. The new series airs on MundoFox Monday through Friday at 8PM/7C. El Rey David joins the network’s primetime lineup starting Monday, April 29, following the premiere of Minuto Para Ganar Season 2 at 7PM/6C.

The story takes viewers from Bethlehem following a 10-year old David, through a journey of evolution to a good shepherd and ultimately ascending to the throne in dramatic fashion as an underestimated hero to his people. David, a musician and a poet, was considered a wise, fair and fearless leader.  However, his passionate heart drove him to make many mistakes, bringing him hardship and pain.

What follows is a chain of events filled with love, hate, friendship, betrayal and forgiveness. David’s legacy is to show mankind that all men are capable of committing sin and injustice, but that they’ll only find the path when they obey God’s laws.

“From his defeat of Goliath to his jealousy-fueled relationship with Saul, and his self-destructive lustful desire for Bathsheba, ‘El Rey David’ is a must-see filled with intriguing story lines and high drama,” said Adriana Ibáñez, Executive Vice President of Programming for MundoFox. “Viewers will enjoy a well-produced, thrilling saga of religion and politics based partly on history and on legend.”

Produced by Brazil’s Rádio e Televisão Record S/A, El Rey David was adapted by Vivian de Oliveira, and directed by Edson Spinello. To watch a preview of El Rey David click: http://www.mundofox.com/elreydavid.

Atrévete a Cantar will be moving to Sunday nights, with back-to-back episodes starting at 5PM/6C.
