Media Trends: LATINAS Running the Show July 13th

July 13th at the WeWork in Culver City, 5792 West Jefferson Blvd., Los Angeles 90016

Los Angeles, CA — Latinas are a trend that mainstream media can no longer ignore. From business to politics and everything in between Latinas are trending in all aspects of society; taking their place at the table and even “running the show” as in the case of Hollywood.  Executive Producers Gloria Calderon Kellett (Netflix’s One Day at a Time), Natalie Chaidez (USA’s Queen of the South) are the “showrunners” of two of the hottest TV shows this season. Latina showrunners are at the center of the panel discussion Media Trends: Latinas Running the Show which will take place on Thursday, July 13 at the WeWork in Culver City, located at 5792 West Jefferson Blvd., Los Angeles 90016 at 5:30pm, presented by Latin Heat Media.

Why have hits like Hulu’s East Los High, USA’s Queen of the South and Netflix’s One Day at a Time and Narcos, resonated with Latino audiences?  Relatability.  Not only that, mainstream audiences are digging content produced with a different perspective.

As more Latinas join the elite club of Hollywood executive producers, they add a new voice to the storytelling of U.S. Latino.  They are writing, relatable English-language content for all audiences, but which resonates with U.S. Latinos.  For brands, there are now more viable ways to directly target a consumer market with a purchasing power of $1.3 trillion annually – U.S. Latinos.

Last week’s findings of the Latino Donor Collaborative study, concluded that the GDP of the U.S. Latino market is worth $2.3 trillion.  This would make the U.S. Latino GDP the world’s seventh largest in the world, larger than India, Italy, Brazil or Canada.  There is no doubt that this is a very important market for brands to target.

This is the topic of discussion at our panel MEDIA TRENDS: Latinas Running the Show which will be held on July 13th at the WeWork in Culver City, located at 5792 West Jefferson Blvd., Los Angeles 90016 at 5:30pm.  There will also be a presentation of TheTRENDTalk Show sizzle reel with hosts/executive producers talking about their upcoming 2nd season.

This informative and eye-opening panel will be moderated by Max Ramirez (founder of The Ad Society), and includes the following panelist: Kiki Melendez (Executive Producer of FYI’s Kiki Mobile), Naibe Reynoso (Executive Producer/Host of The Trend Talk Show)Starrett Berry (Affiliate Sales Agent for Zoomoo), and Charo Toledo (Producer Hulu’s East Los High & Univision’s La Reina de la Cancion)
