Marc Anthony and Juanes to Headline The AIFF Concert Series


Aruba — Furthering its stature as one of the most exciting entertainment destinations to be at in June, the Aruba International Film Festival (AIFF) has revealed that award winning singer, songwriter, actor and producer Marc Anthony and Grammy and multiple Latin Grammy Colombian rock superstar Juanes will perform at the Aruba International Film Festival’s inaugural Concert Series taking place at the Harbor Concert Arena.  The announcement was made by AIFF founder and executive producer Jonathan Vieira.

Juanes will headline the AIFF Concert Series on Friday, June 22nd.  Marc Antony will take over as headliner on Saturday, June 23rd. To complete the series, the talented international music superstar DJ/Artist/Producer Chuckie will be performing on the evening of Sunday, June 24th with his world touring brand Dirty Dutch, featuring many international performing DJs.

 The AIFF Concert Arena, which will rise up in the port area of Oranjestad, will be the largest music venue ever built on the island.  Its three-night inauguration is expected to bring thousands of tourists and locals to the concert series, quite possibly one of the largest events of its kind ever in Aruba.

The 3rd annual Aruba International Film Festival runs June 22-28, bringing international film dignitaries along with new and rarely seen films to its home at Paseo Herencia on Aruba’s North Shore.

Marc Anthony has sold over 12 million albums worldwide, making him one of the most influential artists of his time and a true ambassador of Latin music and culture. He has also established a highly credible acting résumé, having worked with Hollywood’s A-list talent, top filmmakers and executives on both the big and small screen.

Currently, Anthony is working with Jennifer Lopez and director-choreographer Jamie King on the Latin talent series created by Simon Fuller, called Q’Viva! The Chosen.

Outside of music and film, Anthony ventured into the fashion industry when he debuted the Marc Anthony Collection, a clothing line sold exclusively at Kohl’s, in September 2011.

With five solo albums to his credit and multi-platinum sales of over 15 million albums, Juanes is the world’s leading all-Spanish language rock artist. Named Latin Music’s Star of The Decade by Billboard, Juanes is both a Grammy and 17-time Latin Grammy winner who has garnered more Top-5 hits (17) on the Latin Pop Airplay chart than any other artist since his chart bow in 2001. Juanes is also frequently recognized as one of the Spanish-speaking world’s leading social media voices with an online following of over 7 ½ Million fans.  The Colombian superstar’s dedication as a global activist also extends far beyond his passionate lyrics and is seen in his wide ranging charitable work for his own Mi Sangre Foundation and as a co-founder of the Paz sin Fronteras (Peace Without Borders) organization – which utilizes music to unite populaces regardless of political or geographic divides and advocate that all people are entitled to the basic human right of peace.

Recently, Juanes recorded his higly anticipated JUANES: MTV Unplugged album, revisiting hits from his musical career and unveiling three new songs as part of the stellar performance. JUANES MTV Unplugged will have its U.S. television premiere on Monday, May 28th on Tr3s: MTV, Música y Más followed by the album an DVD global release on May 29th .
