It was announced by Disney at a shareholders conference that Diego Luna will reprise his role of the rebel Cassian Andor in the forthcoming Star Wars live action series yet untitled, which will stream on Disney DISNEY+. His role was first introduced on the big screen in 2016’s Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. The series is set between the time of Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope. It will see Andor at the dawn of the rebellion and open up possibilities for existing Star Wars characters to join him in his adventures.

“Going back to the ‘Star Wars’ universe is very special for me,” Luna said in a statement. “I have so many memories of the great work we did together and the relationships I made throughout the journey. We have a fantastic adventure ahead of us, and this new exciting format will give us the chance to explore this character more deeply.” Luna was recently announced to be doing the Al Pacino role in the cult film Scarface.

It was also announced in Variety and other trades that Pedro Pascal (Narcos, The Equalizer) will star in The Mandolorean, one of several Star Wars spin-off series for its new upcoming Disney Streaming service, DISNEY+, which will debut sometime in late 2019. Pascal will play a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic. Pascal is well known for his breakout role as Prince Oberyn Martell in the fourth season of HBO’s Game of Thrones and went on to star as Javier Pena in Netflix Narcos. He had key roles in the feature films Kingsman: The Golden Circle and The Equalizer 2. The actor will be seen next in If Beale Street Could Talk and is currently filming Wonder Woman: 1984.
