Luis Guzman, Flavor Flav and Maurice Benard at “Hold On” Free Film Premiere

Cross Cultural Filmmaking Collaborations Panel at Hispanicize L.A.

Los Angeles, CA — Legendary character actor Luis Guzman, hip hop legend Flavor Flav and General Hospital iconic actor Maurice Benard will join Hispanicize L.A. Oct. 4 for a celebrity panel about cross cultural filmmaking trends. The actors are all part of Hispanicize Film’s first motion picture production Hold On and will be joined at Hispanicize L.A.’s by director/actor/producer Tarek Tohme and lead actress/producer Micayla de Ette.

Inspired by true events, Hold On (#HoldOnFilm) tells the story of Sidney Rhodes (De Ette), a talented singer who must fight to keep her dreams and family life alive while working at a small Los Angeles church. View the trailer forHold On here:


The panel is part of a film and music entertainment industry agenda that will also include The Powerful Latinas of Hollywood celebrities panel led by Latina Media.

Presented by Prudential, the national Hispanic Heritage Month edition of Hispanicize (www.HispanicizeLA.com) is a multi-industry event that will take place in L.A.’s The Line Hotel and is expected to gather a Who’s Who of 700 professionals from the industry of film, music, social media, journalism, marketing and tech. More than 20 sessions will take place throughout the day.

As part of the multi-industry agenda of Hispanicize L.A., organizers also announced a partnership with Latina Media and the California Chicano News Media Association (CCNMA), expecting to add hundreds of Hispanic journalist attendees.

As part of the robust agenda of the 2nd annual Hispanicize L.A. event, HMG also recently announced that the Hispanicize Silicon Valley Rankings, the first ever company rankings of Latino diversity in Silicon Valley, will also be announced and staged at Hispanicize L.A.

In addition to the awards and in the spirit of offering solutions for Silicon Valley, Hispanicize L.A. will facilitate a strong agenda that will provide tech diversity officers with the tools and all-day trainings they need to meaningfully improve their companies’ Latino diversity efforts.
