Los Angeles, CA – The triumph of an indie filmmaker is personified by the trajectory of the film, the story, the talent and finally getting distribution based on its merits. Hundreds of thousands of films are made each year by the big studios, the mini-major studios and indie filmmakers worldwide, out of those only 677 are released theatrically. Mission Park became one of these elite films when it released theatrically this past September. On December 17th Lionsgate Home Entertainment released the film on DVD, On Demand and Digital Download under the new title, Line of Duty.
Line of Duty, marks the debut feature film for writer/director Bryan Anthony Ramirez and producer Douglas Spain (Star Maps, Band of Brothers). The film had a national platform theatrical release as Mission Park exclusively through AMC Theatres, Santikos Theaters, and Maya Cinemas this last September 2013. The film was in theaters for 4 solid weeks. This tense and riveting crime drama stars Jeremy Ray Valdez (La Mission), Walter Perez (The Avengers), Fernanda Romero (Drag Me to Hell), Will Rothhaar (Battle Los Angeles), and Joseph Julian Soria (Filly Brown) with Will Estes (CBS’ “Blue Bloods”) and Sean Patrick Flanery (Showtime’s Dexter). David J. Phillips (Life Happens) is co-producer and Armando Montelongo of Flip This House fame is the executive producer.
Line of Duty tells the story of four childhood friends, whose ambitions land them on opposite sides of the law. Rookie FBI agents Bobby (Valdez) and Julian (Rothhaar) must go undercover and face their hidden pasts in an attempt to bring down their ‘best friends’ (Perez, Soria) criminal organization. The film won the 4th Annual Hispanicize 2013 Best of Show Feature Film and it also won the Best Narrative Feature, Best Director, and Best Acting Performance (Walter Perez) at the 2013 Boston International Film Festival.
Line of Duty is now on DVD with previously unavailable bonus materials (plus Digital UltraViolet), Digital HD, Video on Demand and Pay-Per-View from Lionsgate Home Entertainment.
