Los Angeles, CA – NBC streaming service, Seeso, will deliver a show based on Lin-Manuel Miranda‘s improv/rap group Freestyle Love Supreme on June 23, 2016.
“It’s crazy to think about how long we’ve been performing as a group,” Miranda said. “The number of boy bands we’ve outlived in that time is staggering! No matter what happens in each of our lives, we all come back to ‘Freestyle Love Supreme.’ It’s our touchstone, and it’s gratifying to be able to share this series anew with the world.”
Original cast members include Hamilton’s Christopher Jackson, Chris Sullivan, Anthony Veneziale and Utkarsh Ambudkar.
Miranda’s fans who could not attend his shows on Broadway, will be able to watch his performance (musical comedy show) on NBC’s Seeso.
Freestyle Love Supreme was created by Thomas Kail and Anthony Veneziale, and is based on live performances in which Freestyle Love Supreme would turn audience cues into musical numbers.
“The fresh material that we filmed gave us a chance to explore our roots and innovate on the future with new interviews, jam sessions and, of course, ridiculous rhymes,” Veneziale stated.
The group has performed at the Edinburgh International Fringe Festival, the HBO US Comedy Arts Festival, the Melbourne Comedy Festival, Paramount Comedy UK and the Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal.
The New York Times called them, “Masters in the art of Freestyle rhyme.”
