Ana de Armas stars in Jonathan Jakubowicz Hands of Stone about legendary boxer Robert “Hands of Stone” Duran. She plays Felicidad Iglesias wife of the Duran.
In just two short years since moving to Los Angeles, by way of Spain, having left her home in Havana Cuba in 2006 she has already gotten the attention of Hollywood.
She began her studies in Havana, Cuba at the National Theatre School of Havana, where she graduated after 4 years. At the age of 16, she made her first film, Una rosa de Francia, directed by Manuel Gutiérrez Aragón. After a few more roles in subsequent films she moved to Spain, where she continued her film career, and started on TV. In 2014 she moved to Los Angeles.

Her talent has already gotten her cast in two of the most high profile films, due out summer or 2016, War Dogs, directed by Todd Philips, in which she stars along Miles Teller and Jonah Hill and Hands of Stone, which is set to release on August 26. She stars along the great Robert De Niro, Edgar Ramirez, Usher, and Ruben Blades.
After Hands of Stone she starred alongside Scott Eastwood in the French film Overdrive directed by Antonio Negret and produced by Kinology.
Currently she is filming Blade Runner 2, which is being directed by Denis Villeneuve (Sicario), joining another stellar cast which includes Ryan Gosling and Harrison Ford. The anticipated sequel takes place decades after the original. It is written by Hampton Fancher and Michael Green, and is set several decades after the original story which was written by Fancher and David Peoples based on Philip K. Dick’s novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep and is expected in theaters on October 6, 2017. Warner Bros. will distribute the film domestically, while Sony distributes internationally.
