Latino Tech Entrepreneur Track Announced for Hispanicize 2014

Miami, FL –  The new Tech component added this year to Hispanicize, the annual Latino trends event, will take place April 1-4 in downtown Miami’s InterContinental Hotel.  U.S. Latino tech entrepreneurs and the investors and technology companies that want to work with them will take center stage as part of the Tech Entrepreneurs agenda just unveiled.

Curated by the Latino Startup Alliance, the Tech Entrepreneurs Showcase of Hispanicize 2014 includes workshops, talks, sessions and a national startup competition featuring angel investors, respected Latino tech CEOs and startups.

Co-chaired by award winning journalist Maria Hinojosa of NPR’s Latino USA and Patricia Pineda, Group Vice President of the Hispanic Business Strategy Group of Toyota Motor North America, Hispanicize 2014 is expected to gather more than 1,700 of the nation’s most influential Latino professionals from the industries of blogging, journalism, technology, music, marketing, film and business over four full days featuring U.S. Hispanic thought leaders and celebrities.

The event is a launch pad for creative endeavors, new products, technologies, marketing campaigns, films, books and more targeting Latinos in the U.S. and/or Puerto Rico.

Among the tech leaders, investors and startups participating in the program are:

One of the most offbeat sessions taking place this year is titled “Building an Internet without Internet.” The session will explore how Cuban tech entrepreneurs are banding together to create social communities without even using the Internet, a mostly prohibited item in the island.

“An Evening with Latino Tech Investors and Entrepreneurs” (By Invite Only)

This three-hour, by invitation only dinner program will feature a keynote by Paul Singh, Founder of Disruption Corporation and Partner of 500 Startups. Conducted in partnership with Startup Angels, the program will also feature a panel on U.S. Latino Tech Opportunities & Challenges with featuring certified investors and U.S. Latino startups.
