Crowdfunding ends today — August 28, 2018

Written and Directed by 2018 Sundance Screenwriters Lab Finalist and Sloan Commissioning Grant Finalist Jayk Gallagher

Idyll is a romantic drama between two young Latinas, Petunia and Vera. Jayk Gallagher started fundraising on August 16th and has raised 17% of its goal in the first 24 hours. The film needs the support of those who connect with Latinx and LGBTQ-centered films that deal with themes of domestic abuse, mental health, memory, and amends. Fifty percent (50%) of all women in same-sex relationships will experience abuse rom their partners, yet films about this topic are extremely uncommon. Visit film info:

This important short film stars Andrea Sixtos, a aeries regular for three seasons on HULU’s East Los High, and just booked a major recurring guest star with series regular options for a major action television franchise. Idyll also stars Vanessa Garcia, who had excellent guest starring roles on Swat, CSI, NCIS, Stitchers and many more.

Idyll features an all-star crew, including colorist Darin Wooldridge, who colored a feature that won Best Cinematography at Tribeca, as well as Guardians of the Galaxy, and Captain America Civil War, and worked 20 years at Panavision. Editing Consultant, David Maks edited Gus Van Sant‘s last feature film that debuted at Sundance, Don’t Worry He Won’t Get Far On Foot, starring Joaquin Phoenix and Rooney Mara. Production Designer, Sonja Kroop, designed LA Film Festival Feature Film Award Nominee, Echo Park, and Director of Photography, Ian Clampett, worked on Captain Marvel, Baskets, Legiond, Z Nation, among many others. The film also features work by Amanda Jones, a composer who works for Lion’s Gate and such shows as Dear White People, Greenleaf, and Nashville. And, then there is Sound Designer, Larry Weir, who works on shows like The Voice, Beat Shazam, and American Idol.

And, then there is Lynette Coll, Idyll‘s Producer, who currently is currently executive producing a David Lynch film.

“It’s one of the best things I’ve read in a while,” says Lynette, Director of Development with SingularDTV, a blockchain based film funding company. “Jayk Gallagher is very progressive. He’s telling stories about Latina women and creating a space for voices that are not heard.”

The film must raise $16.000 to meet its full budget before the campaign deadline ends.
