Want to relive the sophistication of the classic 1940’s supper clubs while delighting to today’s top Broadway talent like Mandy Gonzales, Robin de Jesus, Eden Espinoza, Paquito D’Rivera, Bianaa Marroquin, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Lauren Molina, Krysta Rodriguez, Paulo Szot, and Chita Rivera? Then book a delectable dinner, superb cocktails and an intimate show at the elegant Feinstein’s /54 Below. (Named so because it’s located in the basement of the once notorious “Studio 54” disco.)
Just steps from Times Square, the swanky club is known as Broadway’s living room, a home away from home for Broadway professionals and audiences alike. With pre-theatre dinner offered nightly from 5pm, critics agree that Feinstein’s /54 Below has set a new culinary standard for New York City entertainment venues with all tables no more than 24 feet from the stage. Yes, it’s that intimate. Always an unforgettable evening out, here’s a little of what’s coming up at Feinstein’s /54 Below:
54 Sings Broadway’s Greatest Hits! (Sept. 16 thru July 21, 2018) Imagine your favorite Broadway hits performed by world class musical talents. This show will present the voices you hear on your original cast recording singing the songs that define the American musical theater. These sterling actor-singers will bring to life the perennial tunes from Broadway’s Golden Age to the latest blockbusters. Get your tickets now — this series sells out quickly! (The October 14, 2017 cast includes Luba Mason, star of the Capeman where she met and married Ruben Blades.)
Charles Busch: My Kinda’ 60’s (Oct. 17, 19, 20 & 21- 2018) Tony nominated, diva extraordinaire Charles Busch’s meteoric career as perhaps the world’s most celebrated drag artist is too fabulous to be captured in one evening of mesmerizing song and spellbinding storytelling – but bitch is gonna try and do it anyway. For those familiar with Mr. Busch’s work, this show is required viewing. And if you’re new to the magic of La Busch – prepare to worship at his/her pumps. He’s a comic genius and this reviewer cannot recommend this sure-to-be devastatingly funny (and touching) evening enough.
